Retirement Ready or Not

A question those serious about their money want to know.

Perhaps this question has crossed your mind more than once as you consider your financial future. There are many issues surrounding this question and one of the first steps to finding the answer is to evaluate where you are today. You may be surprised to find how much it will take in the future for you to live during your retirement years at the same standard of living you are enjoying today. The time to find out what you need to do to make sure your financial future is on solid ground is now.

This video makes a statement; "With the recent downturn in the economy many are worried the assets they have currently will not be enough for them to retire when they were hoping." We all know that the Stock Market goes up… and the Stock Market goes down. It would be foolish to think that we have seen the last Stock Market downturn since we are currently in a period of good Stock Market returns. Please do not get complacent in thinking that you have seen the last Stock Market downturn. Other downturns will occur and you need to have a financial strategy in place to lessen any financial harm it may cause you.

The decade of 2000-2009 is known on Wall Street as "The Lost Decade." One dollar invested at the beginning of the year in 2000 became $0.76 at the end of the year 2009. This was a very hard time for people who had money invested in the Stock Market. A great number of people contributing to their 401(k) retirement plans suffered financial loss and those in retirement drawing distributions from their 401(k) retirement plans suffered a loss in their lifestyle.
